How to Avoid Becoming Bridezilla

Bridezilla

Planning a wedding can be stressful, there are a lot of details to consider! It is important to stay focused on what is truly important (your marriage) and not let the particulars get the best of you.  After all, you don’t want your friends and family to see you as “Bridezilla”!  Keep these things in mind.

Don’t Stress Over Details.

We get it, you want your day to be perfect.  But the hard truth is…not everything will always go according to plan.  But, that’s ok!  Chances are, you are the only one who will notice if there is a snag.  If you create a plan, and stick to that plan, the vital details will fall into place.  A key part of your planning should be in creating your budget.  Finances tend to be one of the major stresses brides will face.  Keeping your finances in control can certainly help your mood stay upbeat.

Ask for Help.

There is a reason you have a bridal party.  You want the people you love by your side, but don’t be afraid to ask them to help with the specifics.   If everything falls on your shoulders, the few weeks before your wedding are sure to be tense.  When you are tense, everyone around you can sense it.  What you say and the tone you use can easily be misinterpreted, causing you to be labeled as a “Bridezilla.”

Be Nice.

Your wedding is a joyful event. The people surrounding you are there to support and rejoice by your side, so treat them with gratitude.  You have grand expectations for the day, and the day will not fall apart if something doesn’t go according to plan.  The most important thing is to celebrate, not create the perfect party and lose relationships!

It is easy to get caught up in your emotions when you are under stress.  Just keep a kind-hearted spirit and don’t sweat the small stuff.  Your wedding is important, and you want it to be filled with cheer!
