Overcoming Last-Minute Wedding Anxiety

Wedding Anxiety

You have a big day ahead of you, no wonder you feel a little overwhelmed!  But, there is no need to hold onto unnecessary anxiety.  Here are a few tips to help you relieve some of that unwanted stress.

  1. Make a To-Do List.

Typically when brides feel overwhelmed, simple organization can offer some relief. Make a “To-Do” list in order of priority and start delegating.  Some things you will want to handle on your own, and that is okay. But, if someone else can check off a certain item for you…let them!

  2. Call on the Bridal Party.

Don’t be afraid to ask your friends for help, this is one of their primary responsibilities. Your wedding party should be made up of close friends and family who want to pitch in and make your day special.  So, ask a trusted bridesmaid to make that call and coordinate the cake delivery details instead.

  3. Make Time for Yourself.

Some brides prefer to take a few hours to decompress on their own, and some feel more relaxed with a few close friends by their side. Choose your company wisely, and hit the spa!  You may want to fit in a last-minute hair removal or manicure appointment before the honeymoon anyway.

  4. Eliminate Work Stress.

This is the time to only focus on your wedding. Let someone else cover any work responsibilities leading up to your event and through the duration of your honeymoon.  And…this may be the tricky part…don’t think about anything that may be sitting on your desk!  It will be there waiting when you return.

  5. Soak It In.

This event will only happen once, so enjoy it! Yes, it is possible that something may go wrong.  Go with the flow and don’t allow yourself to stress over tiny mix-ups.  Chances are, you are the only person who will know that something didn’t go exactly as planned.

The most important part of your wedding day is the union of you and the groom. Have a wonderful time and enjoy, everything else will fall into place!
